How to Use This Scientific Calculator
This free online scientific calculator provides all the functions you need for math, science, and engineering calculations. It goes beyond basic arithmetic to include trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent), logarithms (base-10 and natural), exponents, square roots, and mathematical constants like pi and e.
Trigonometric functions operate in radians, which is the standard in mathematics and most scientific applications. To calculate sin(90 degrees), enter sin(1.5708) since 90 degrees equals pi/2 radians. The log button computes the common logarithm (base 10), while ln computes the natural logarithm (base e). The caret operator (^) raises a number to any power.
The calculator maintains a history of your last ten calculations, making it easy to reference previous results or track a series of computations. The expression parser handles operator precedence correctly, so expressions like 2 + 3 * 4 will correctly return 14, not 20. Parentheses can be used to group operations and override the default precedence. All results are displayed with full precision, and the calculator handles both very large and very small numbers using scientific notation when appropriate.
