Pediatric Weight Calculator

APLS Formula

Luscombe-Owens

Note

Estimating Pediatric Weight from Age

APLS formulas: ages 1-5 = (2*age)+8 kg; ages 6-12 = (3*age)+7 kg. For emergencies when weighing is not possible.

Luscombe-Owens: (3*age)+7 for ages over 1. May be more accurate for modern children.

These give median estimates. Length-based (Broselow tape) is more accurate. Always weigh when feasible.
